Practical Science – #2 – Polarized Light

A really short demo showing how polarized light is used in LCD monitors and can be used to check materials for stress. To better explain the monitors application, the light emitted through the polarizer interacts with the liquid crystal in such a way that it ‘bends’ light to show specific colours.

Do CRT monitors use less electricity when the brightness is lowered?
